27 Kingly Street and 6 Fouberts Place

27 Kingly Street is an unusual art deco warehouse building that had previously been used as a leisure and health club. The project involved the complete refurbishment of the building to create a large retail unit on the lower floors linked through to the adjacent shop at 6 Fouberts Place with bright and modern offices over. The project also included a spacious loft-style duplex penthouse flat on the top 2 floors with extensive external balcony and terrace areas.
The offices are designed to reflect the industrial character of the property with large multi-pane steel windows, dark timber floors and exposed lighting and services. By removing structural walls between the 2 properties additional floor area was added to the offices, creating a dramatic working space on multiple levels.
The new penthouse is similarly fitted out with timber plank flooring, industrial style lighting and kitchen with minimal finishes to reflect a ‘loft living’ lifestyle.
Externally the building’s decorative brickwork has been cleaned and repaired and the rear facades of the building upgraded with new zinc cladding, a glazed extension and new steel windows enlivening previously blank walls.
