St. Martin’s Courtyard, Covent Garden
Longmartin Properties is a joint venture between Shaftesbury PLC and the Mercers Company who have combined their property holdings to revitalise a large block of properties in Covent Garden, bounded by Long Acre and Upper St Martins Lane
MR Partnership were commissioned to prepare a strategic plan for this city block which currently consists of offices, car parking, shops, bars, restaurants, a nightclub and over 40 residential units.
MR Partnership’s strategy will see a new thoroughfare created through the heart of the site with restaurants, bars and shops creating a vibrant dynamic route to a public square and new pedestrian routes to adjoining streets.
MRP’s redevelopment of Kingly Court has influenced the strategy for this underdeveloped area of Covent Garden. This will include maximising the potential of existing properties by providing high quality new developments and enhancing the public spaces between buildings.
Detailed design has been taken forward on 2 major redevelopment projects, 10-14 Upper St Martins Lane and East Slingsby Place, with construction due to commence in late 2007.
Completion summer 2010.
