Yeshiva, Finchley Road

The proposed building is for a Yeshiva, a Rabbinical College, on a ‘W’ shape site in the Finchley Road, North London.

The building comprises of three elements, educational, circulation and dormitories. The three parts of the building are treated in different architectural styles to reflect their use and to minimise their scale.

Education

This part of the building is on four levels and includes the administration offices, lecture rooms, dining area and a large main study hall at the higher level.

Dormitories

This part of the building is on five levels and provides three and four bed dormitories for the students along with some staff accommodation.

Circulation

The central portion of the building contains the primary circulation of the main stair, lift and entrance foyer allowing generous space to move around the building. The layout of the central circulation area brings together the different geometries of the adjacent buildings.

The external areas are well landscaped assisting this scheme to be integrated into the local streetscape.
